Facilities Assistant / Landscaper -Full Time
Hiring Range: $18.13/hr. - $21.75/hr.

The Facilities Assistant / Landscaper maintains buildings, vehicles, and equipment in good operating order and ensures that all grounds are presentable at all times.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Work independently and perform all work efficiently and organized with minimal supervision.
  • Daily monitoring grounds and parking areas for litter, trash, and debris removal.
  • Perform landscaping maintenance. This includes but is not limited to cutting grass, edging around walks and flower beds, trimming shrubs and trees, and applying fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides. Additional responsibilities include planting and watering grass, flowers, shrubs, and trees; removing leaves, branches, and brush; and weeding flower beds and other required areas.
  • Perform routine or periodic cleaning, maintenance, and repair tasks to keep landscaping equipment in good operating condition.
  • Utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment. Maintain all applicable material safety data sheets and follow all chemical or pesticide labeling, mixing and use instructions and regulations.


Minimum Qualifications:

EXPERIENCE: Experienced (minimum of 2 years of job-related experience)

Two years of landscaping or groundskeeping experience.

Knowledge and experience in proper groundskeeping and gardening techniques are required, including proper watering, fertilizing techniques, and pest management.

The ability to work independently with minimal supervision is required.

Demonstrate the following skills: organizational skills, problem-solving orientation, effective communication, reporting skills, computer competencies, and networking.

Requires:

  • The ability to function indoors in an office environment and outdoors engaged in physically active work.
  • Ambulatory ability to move to different work locations and bend, stoop, climb, and perform inspections.
  • The ability to wear various protective equipment, work in areas with extreme temperature variation, and work in cramped or uneven spaces.
  • Visual acuity to observe work sites, and read written materials, blueprints, plans, and schematics.
  • Auditory ability to carry on conversations in person and over the phone, including projecting voice in noisy work settings.
  • May require the ability to lift from the floor, waist, or overhead objects up to 75 pounds occasionally.
