Clinical Manager - Adult Inpatient Unit & Youth Inpatient Unit

General Summary of Duties: The Manager of AIU / YIU provides administrative and clinical management to the agency's 2, Evaluation and Treatment Facilities including the Adult Inpatient Unit and the Youth Inpatient Unit. Ensure high-quality, well-coordinated clinical care across departments and with community providers.

Improve the operations of KMHS in support of its stated mission. Provide the highest level of customer service to internal and external customers. Actively participate as a member of the department's managerial team.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Clinical Supervisor of AIU/YIU and shift supervisors

Major Responsibilities/Tasks:
  • Work with Director to ensure coordination and continuity of care for KMHS clients and to assure a smooth transition of clients between services. Ensure adequate psychiatric consultation and clinical coverage for respective programs.
  • Provide consistent direction and supervision to supervisees with a focus on the quality and continuity of clinical care. Recruit, hire, and develop qualified staff including ongoing coaching and timely performance appraisals.
  • Work with the staff to establish each program's yearly goals and ensure contract compliance. Participate in the Quality Program Review process.
  • Implement the administrative and clinical policies of KMHS.
  • Monitor all documentation relative to client contacts is fully completed and submitted in an accurate and timely manner, in accordance with agency and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor client and community needs and assist in enhancing and developing services to address identified needs.
  • Represent KMHS in the community and serve as liaison to other social service/community agencies.
  • Monitor new developments/implementations/changes of county/regional plans and assure that programs operate in compliance with such plans and all appropriate statutes and regulations.
  • Participate in developing and implementing agency treatment philosophy.
  • Participate in the agency's community relations activities.
  • Serve on behalf of the Director of Inpatient and Residential as requested.
  • Promote the enhancement of positive staff morale by facilitating timely responses to problems and ensuring thorough and accurate internal and external communications.

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Master's Degree in Psychology, social services, or behavioral health.

EXPERIENCE: Expert (established subject matter expert, 7+ years of experience)

Five successful years of supervisory/administrative experience. Community mental health experience and budget management experience.

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION: Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration. Must meet and maintain the definition of a Mental Health Professional as defined in WAC 388-877-0500.

Preferred Qualifications:

EXPERIENCE: Expert (established subject matter expert, 10+ years of experience)

LICENSURE: Washington License (LICSW, LMFT or LMHC).
