Access Intake Clinician- $3000 hiring bonus available - Full Time
Hiring Range: $32.53/hr - $40.67/hr

The Access Clinician provides mental health coordination, screening, assessment, and treatment recommendations for adults and children, in collaboration with their parents or guardians.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Triage individual requests for service for those who walk into the agency. As needed, provide an immediate referral to crisis services for emergent cases, complete a crisis intervention for non-emergent clients, provide information and referral sources to those who do not meet entrance criteria, and screen and provide intake for Medicaid or Medicaid-eligible individuals.
  • Complete clinical interviews and intake assessments. Utilize the current diagnostic manual, Washington State Access to Care criteria, and medical necessity guidelines to determine provisional diagnosis and treatment recommendations. Obtain or complete all required entrance documentation, including supplemental assessments/screenings.
  • Assist in facilitating a smooth transition and ensure a positive experience for those who meet the criteria by coordinating with multiple KMHS departments and community partners as necessary.
  • Conduct outreach and priority assessments as needed (DCFS, Drug Court, Tribal Entities, and other C&F programs) and regularly travel to provide assessments at satellite locations if needed.
  • Participate as an integral member of the Access Team. Work cooperatively and collaboratively as a team member. Assist in building positive working relationships with staff of all agency departments.
  • Pursue professional growth and development by seeking opportunities and integrating new learning into daily work practices. Maintain a working knowledge of current community mental health trends, including diagnostic techniques and health care reform.

Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Masters's Degree in Psychology, social services, or a mental health field.
EXPERIENCE: Experienced (minimum two years of job-related experience).
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle report and reliable personal transportation.
LICENSURE: Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration (can be obtained after hire). Must meet and maintain the definition of a Mental Health Professional as defined in WAC 388-877-0500.

Preferred Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE: Child Mental Health Specialist (CMHS).
Business-rated insurance may be required if performing outreach duties.
LICENSURE: Chemical Dependency Professional (CDP), Washington state license in social work or mental health field.
